The CMC Certification (Certified Management Consultant) is bestowed upon members accepted into the professional, internationally-recognized association CMC Canada (and provincial institutes) who, through their accreditation process, maintain the professional standards of the management consulting role.

The Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC Canada)

The Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada) was founded more than 50 years ago, while the management consulting profession was emerging. The association fosters excellence and integrity in the management consulting profession as a whole. The Association has over 2,850 members and is dedicated to advancing the profession in Canada through education and certification of consultants, promotion of ethical standards and professional competency, and advocacy for the profession in public and government settings.

Each province possesses its own site, providing the visitors with Institute materials, events, member directory, announcements, and discussions. Members are largely involved to allow these activities, events, and content existence.


All CMC candidates must have a university education, from a recognized program, or a professional licence i.e. CA, CGA, CMA, CPA, or P.Eng. In order to progress to the evaluation stage, CMC candidates must successfully complete a series of rigorous professional education programs.

All candidates must have a minimum of three years of relevant management consulting experience.

CMC candidates must pass a national assessment, tailored for them based on their experience. CMCs have proven they understand and demonstrate the nine core competencies as required by the National Certification Committee. Senior CMCs will review previous engagements, taking into account client feedback, and the deliverables produced by the candidate.

All CMCs must annually declare to adhere to the Uniform Code of Professional Conduct and invest in continuing professional development.
