The LEED AP Certification guarantees an advanced knowledge in green building as well as expertise in LEED rating systems.
Canada Green Building Council – Québec (CBDCa-Qc.)
The title of LEED Accredited Professional (AP) is bestowed upon members accepted into the Canada Green Building Council – Québec (CBDCa-Qc.). The objective of the Canada Green Building Council (CBDCa) and its Quebec chapter is the same :Lead and accelerate the transformation to high-performing, healthy green buildings, homes and communities throughout Canada.
Members of the Canada Green Building Council are companies, institutions, universities, organizations, municipalities and government agencies involved in the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of buildings, homes and communities.Their organization offers a variety of continuing education courses to ensure their members are always improving. The sites provides multiple resources about environmental issues and they regularly hold meetings and events to engage and involve their community.
Before taking the LEED AP certification, the candidate must have earned his/her LEED Green Associate title. An experience in a recognized LEED project is also strongly recommended. There are different LEED AP specialities:
- LEED AP BD+C (Building Design + Construction)
- LEED AP O+M (Building Operations + Maintenance)
- LEED AP ID+C (Interior Design + Construction)
- LEED AP Homes
- LEED AP ND (Neighbourhood Developement)
Possessing such a designation will give LEED Accredited Professional credibility while practicing in the green building specialized field.
